What is a wrinkle reduction consultation?

FAQs

Contour Aesthetics Mentone Contact Card

Does it hurt?

Most people are surprised by how quick and tolerable it is. Most people find it quicker and more comfortable than they expected. Many describe it as a small pinch. If you're nervous about needles, tell me at your consultation and we'll take it at your pace.

Will I look frozen or fake?

This is the most common worry I hear, and it's exactly what a considered approach avoids. My focus is on a subtle, natural result that suits your face. We discuss the look you want at your consultation, and I'd always rather be conservative and adjust than overdo it.

Is there any downtime afterwards?

I'll give you simple aftercare instructions on the day. This will include things like avoiding strenuous exercise and not rubbing the treated area for a short period. Most people can return to normal activities quickly, though some experience minor redness or a small bruise at the injection site, which typically settles quickly.

How long do results last?

It varies from person to person. Factors like your muscle strength, metabolism and lifestyle all play a part, which is another reason the consultation matters. I'll give you an honest indication of what to expect for your situation, and we can plan maintenance around what suits you.

Why do I need a consultation first? Can't I just book the treatment?

Because these treatments involve prescription-only medicines, a proper assessment isn't optional - it's a legal and safety requirement. It also matters for your result: everyone's face moves differently, and a treatment plan that suits your friend may not suit you. The consultation is where we work out what's right for you specifically.

Why can't I find prices on your website?

Australian regulations restrict how clinics can advertise prescription-only treatments, including publishing prices for them. It's not about hiding anything.  I'm always upfront about costs at your consultation, before any decision is made. I've written more about this on my blog if you're curious.
