How Much Does PRX Plus Cost? Your Questions Answered

'PRX Plus is one of the treatments I get asked about most, and almost every question is some version of the same thing: what does it cost, does it hurt, and how is it different from microneedling. So rather than answer that one by one in clinic, here's everything in one place.'
How much does PRX Plus cost?
A single PRX Plus session at Contour Aesthetics is $249. That covers the full appointment: a skin assessment, the treatment itself, and aftercare advice before you leave. Most clients have a short course of sessions rather than just one, and I'll go through what that looks like for your skin at your first visit, since it depends on what you're treating and how your skin responds.
What actually is PRX Plus?
It's a needle-free skin treatment applied topically, in a series of short sessions, rather than injected. It's designed to work on the skin's surface and support the skin's own renewal process. Because it's a topical product rather than a prescription medicine, I can talk about it, name it and price it directly, which is more than I'm able to do for the other treatments we offer.
Does it hurt?
This is usually the first question after price, and it's the main reason people choose it over needle-based options. Most clients describe a warming or mild tingling sensation during application, and nothing beyond that. There's no needle involved at any point.
Is there any downtime?
No. You can go straight back to your day after a session. Some clients notice mild redness immediately afterwards, similar to a light flush, which typically settles within a few hours.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your skin and what you're addressing, which is why I assess everyone individually rather than quoting a generic course length. What I can tell you is that PRX Plus is designed to be done as a series rather than a single session, spaced a couple of weeks apart. I'll give you a specific plan at your first appointment rather than a one-size-fits-all number.
How is PRX Plus different from microneedling?
We offer both, and the honest answer is that they work differently and often suit different concerns or different stages of a skin plan. Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin, which comes with a little more visible downtime (some redness for a day or so). PRX Plus is needle-free with no downtime, which makes it a good option if you want a series of treatments without needing to plan around visible redness. For some clients, the two are actually used together as part of a broader plan. Which is right for you depends on your skin and your goals, and that's exactly what a consultation is for.
How soon can I wear makeup afterwards?
Generally, you can apply makeup the same day if needed, though I usually recommend giving your skin a few hours first. I'll talk you through same-day aftercare at your appointment.
Who is PRX Plus suitable for?
It's a versatile option for most skin types, and because there's no downtime, it suits people who want ongoing skin maintenance without disrupting their week. As with any treatment here, it starts with an assessment. If PRX Plus isn't the right fit for what you're wanting to address, I'll say so and talk you through what would suit better.
